Global leaders to discuss innovations shaping the future of transportation in Saudi Arabia
January 28, 2025

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – January 28, 2025 – Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT), the world’s largest telematics service provider, will host The Visionaries of Mobility Summit – Riyadh on Tuesday, February 4 at the JW Marriott in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The summit — hosted by Simon Collis, former UK Ambassador to Saudi Arabia — will bring together key leaders in mobility, safety, and infrastructure to explore the Kingdom’s rapidly evolving transportation landscape and the technologies shaping its future.

As part of its Vision 2030 strategy, Saudi Arabia has seen a 54% reduction in road fatalities since 2016, bringing the rate down to 13.6 deaths per 100,000 people in 2023, according to the World Health Organization. The Kingdom’s success is driven by a coordinated government effort, including the adoption of international road safety standards, enhanced traffic enforcement, improved post-crash care, and public awareness campaigns. Today, as 77% of Saudi roads meet traffic safety standards, the Kingdom continues to prioritize infrastructure improvements, safer driving behaviors, and advanced safety technologies to further reduce accidents and fatalities.

“Saudi Arabia is embracing transformative projects that combine advanced technologies and innovative partnerships. The progress they’ve already achieved is impressive,” said William V. Powers, Founder & CEO of Cambridge Mobile Telematics. “The Visionaries of Mobility Summit – Riyadh offers an exciting opportunity to convene global mobility leaders and explore how we can further accelerate the creation of safer roads and smarter mobility across the Kingdom.”

The Visionaries of Mobility Summit – Riyadh will feature presentations and discussions focused on advancing road safety in Saudi Arabia, including:

  • Emerging Trends in Global Mobility by William V. Powers, Founder & CEO of Cambridge Mobile Telematics
  • Perspectives on Transportation Safety by Capt. Tai Alshammari, CEO of the National Transport Safety Center
  • Advancing Mobility Solutions through Partnerships, with Othman AlDahash, CEO of iot squared

The panel discussion, “Applying Mobility to the Dynamic Landscape of Saudi Arabia,” will explore how new technologies can enhance safety, connectivity, and mobility efficiency in the Kingdom.

The summit will take place on February 4, 2025, starting at 9:30 a.m., at the JW Marriott in Riyadh. The event is open to members of the media and mobility industry leaders.
