SAN ANTONIO (June 13, 2018) – The first ever City-wide competition to find San Antonio’s safest driver has surpassed 10,000 app downloads, in just three days since the contest launched on Monday, June 11th.
“This is fantastic news and is very exciting,” stated Art Reinhardt, TCI Assistant Director. “The response from our community shows that our residents are interested and eager to participate in a friendly competition, proving they are the safest driver and also supporting the City’s Vision Zero initiative.”
The San Antonio Safest Driver competition, sponsored by USAA, runs through September 3, 2018. The deadline to download the app to be eligible for the Grand Prizes is July 9, 2018. The contest is open to residents, 18 years and older, who drive in San Antonio from Bexar, Comal, Kendall, and Guadalupe counties. Those who are deemed the safest driver, least distracted driver, and safest military drivers can win one of three cash grand prizes. $500 cash awards will be given every two weeks, and the three Grand Prizes of $10,000 will be awarded at the end of the contest.
