State Auto has selected Cambridge Mobile Telematics to develop a mobile application for a usage-based insurance program.

Cambridge’s DriveWell technology, which pairs a mobile application and a digital tag, will underpin the initiative. Trip data is passed to the vendor’s data science and analytics engines, which generate personalized feedback for drivers. About one million drivers currently use a Cambridge-powered program across the company’s insurer clients; the latest one to sign on before State Auto was Aioi Nissay Dowa.
